about

In 2006, Sean and Chenin Carlton debuted their first wine, the 2004 Basket Case Syrah. Simultaneously, they were working behind the scenes on a few additional brands. In 2008, as those brands were coming to fruition, Chenin and Sean recognized that not only did they need an umbrella entity to incorporate all their brands, but they also needed a showcase tasting room and headquarters. In early 2008 they found a great space in uptown Pacific City, Oregon, and jumped on it. In keeping with our belief that the space time continuum is so fractured at the coast that you can't but help decompress, we opened Twist Wine Company Tasting Room and Lounge as both a physical headquarters as well as just a cool place to come hang out, relax, and enjoy an adult beverage or two.

TWC now encompasses three wine brands: basket case wines, shy wines, and Reversal Wine. Each one of these brands is a snapshot of one of our many split personalities. Someone once said it was possible to have your cake and eat it too, and we couldn't agree more. Why sell yourself short? Instead of having one brand that had to cater to all our needs, we decided to create a separate brand for each type of drinking opportunity we encounter. We make wines with personality!
